Peter Shaw is an Irish artist who specialises in watercolours. He trained as a teacher in N. Ireland and graduated in 1997, winning the final year Art and Design prize. Since then he has been working as a full time teacher. Peter has also been painting and selling his work for the past 25 years.

Peter writes, ‘Like so many artists, light is the greatest guiding factor in what attracts me to a particular scene. I love the ordinary, the everyday little pockets of life; the corner of a field, a snowbank, the light on the water or a simple, white wall. It is what you personally see in a particular subject, what you can bring to it as an artist, that will give it a life of its own. Watercolour is a fantastically atmospheric medium. It helps me illuminate the everyday.’
